Roles for Bowls

There will be orange shirts in the Rose Bowl and rose shirts in the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.

The orange shirts will be worn by Oregon State's Beavers, who last week--while Stanford was being drubbed by California for its third defeat this season--clinched the Pacific Coast Conference championship with a 12-to-7 victory over Oregon. The Beavers, twice defeated, will play undefeated, untied Duke. The rose shirts will be worn by the University of Georgia's Bulldogs, who, after making a wreck of Georgia Tech last week (21-to-0), were invited to represent the South in Miami's Orange Bowl. There Texas Christian University will take on the once defeated and once tied Bulldogs.

Other college football teams already tapped for post-season Bowl games:

P: Fordham (beaten only by pure little Pitt) will meet once-beaten Missouri in New Orleans' Sugar Bowl.

P: Texas Aggies, blasted out of the undefeated ranks (23-to-0) last week by their old rivals, the Texas Longhorns, will take on Alabama in Dallas' Cotton Bowl.

P: Morris Brown and North Carolina Col lege for Negroes, both undefeated and untied, will face one another in the third annual Peach Blossom Bowl (for Negro colleges) at Columbus, Ga.
