Reminder of Freedom

There has been only one free poll on the popularity of the Red Chinese government, and that was one the Communists could not prevent. It was among 20,000 Chinese soldiers captured by the U.N. forces in Korea. Offered the chance to be returned to Red China, 14,000 refused, renounced home and families to migrate to Formosa. Last week the bells of Formosa pealed to celebrate the fourth anniversary of Freedom Day when the 14,000 arrived in Formosa. Among them some 20 known Red agents were discovered, clapped into a concentration camp. All the rest have now been absorbed either into the Nationalist army or the island's civilian economy.
